Thursday Threesome
(On Friday, yet Again)

A geek-- Hey, who handles tech support at your place? You? ...the six year old? ...or someone from outside? ...and how about in your web space? No, we're not looking for techs; we're just curious . Usually my son or I can figure it out....if it is beyond our capabilities, we call on "Uncle James" (actually my brother James). Eric will be going to school starting in June for multi-media which may yield some interesting things, computer wise that is.

in the-- computer? Just a curiosity for the designer types: what Operating System are you running? ...and which browser? Since sites can show up differently in different browsers it's more than a casual question. I use Windows XP but I prefer windows98. The reason for that is because if it glitches all you have to do is re-install Win98 and that usually fixes the problem. With XP, you have to call tech support, where you never get anyone who speaks English well enough to be understood nor understands English well enough to take care of the problem. And not a one of them knows anything. They read from a script. Half the time it gets down to me demanding to speak with someone who actually speaks un-accented English and speaks English as their FIRST language. I'm not usually very nice about it at this point, either.

Family-- Do any family members read your place? Do they care? Do they have a clue? ...and how about your 'off line' friends? ...or do you supply a little bit of separation there? I don't know if any of them do or not. I read my SIL and brother's daily and also a couple of the people they have links for. I particularly like Daniel Taylor's and Jerry Lawson's.

Went to the VA today. They are going to set me up for an ultrasound for my gall bladder. Evidently the one done at the Richardson Emergency room is not good enough for them. Also are going to schedule a surgery consult. I wonder if all this is going to take 3 months like this first appointment. I also found out that they scheduled me a GYN appointment back in January. The appointment is scheduled for 9 June....6 months later. If it wasn't so irritating, I'd be laughing my ass off. The sheer idiocy of it all is beyond my meager capabilities to describe it. To think that all vets are treated like this just makes my blood boil!!! I have an even harder time, because I am younger than a lot of the vets they treat there and I don't look old or sick. Don't get me wrong, Up until 2 years ago, I did not look my age....now I do. It's like the age fairy came by and said "Damn! forgot you!" and....poof..... the grey hair and wrinkles started to creep in. Along with the weight gain and worsening vision.
The good news here is that I have lost 10 of the 40 lbs. I had gained. Still working on the other 30.
I forgot to ask about cholesterol and triglycerides, but I figure if they were bad, he would have said. He just told me to stay away from fatty foods until I get my gall bladder out and prescribed a pain pill(a non-opiate) for the pain in my back between my should blades and along the inside of my right should blade(he thinks it's related to my gall bladder). He said we would talk about my knee problem after we took care of the gall bladder. He re-prescribed my Toprol( which regulates my heartrate and keeps it from racing thereby keeping my anxiety level down which keeps my heart from racing(I know.....Viscous circle)) and my anti-anxiety pills. He raised the level of my Toprol which is not a big deal cause I already take the very lowest dose of and he only raised it by 12.5 mgs. He kept after me to quit smoking. I told him "look! I have given up most foods with fat, made the switch to skim milk from whole milk, given up the majority of my caffeine, and Started exercising! Don't push your luck bud!"
That's about all that's new around here lately.
Will catch up more later.

Glad to hear you are doing well after your surgery SIL. Looked at your gruesome picture, and I agree, it does kinda resemble a brain. You should feel absolutely svelte after having that huge thing removed.
Nothing much new here...Just working and coming home. Will have a Dr.s appointment myself on the 26th. We will discuss my "sick" gall bladder and my bad knees in detail...right now everything else is secondary.
Eric starts ITT Tech in June, doing Multi-media. He really want computer security but the only place ITT has that in is someplace in podunk ALA. He decided he really didn't feel the need to go there as he had not lost anything there he needed to go back for.
No, there is still some small details of the remodeling that need to be finished. Needless to say, I am getting extremely fed up with these guys. As soon as everything is done, I will send e-mail pics( mainly cause I have no idea how to put them up here.)
Oh, and we have finally had a fire in the fireplace!!!! Sammy built a fire in it yesterday and it worked fine. He has also planted 5 different types of peppers. They are all in separate buckets.
I will also take some pics of the back yard and send. The front yard is so vanilla that we won't do pics of that until we get busy doing some land scaping.
We also add to "new" pets to the menagerie. Two new Beta fish. No names yet, but they went into the formal front living room with all the oriental stuff and bamboo. I have yet to find some decent ginger jar lamps to put in there or the proper type window treatments. I may just make my own window treatments if I can find the right sized bobbins to go into the sewing machine.
That's all that's new for now....will catch up more later.
Again....glad you are doing well Linda.
