Update time again!

Well, Tuesday, I turned 45. Another year gone.....I don't feel any different.....still look the same as last year...same wrinkles and grey hair (except about 20 lb.s heavier) Don't know what the big deal is.
Think I will stop having birthdays...I never get anything....I usually have to bake my own cake, if I have one; altho this year my daughter made me one.
Remodeling has come to a screeching halt as we are waiting on some kitchen cabinets. After they get done in there we have a list of things that either need to be finished or haven't gotten done, so hopefully the end of this month. When the guys clear out, we will be doing some things on our own, like some hand painting on the ceramic tile in the master bath, repainting the small bath, etc.
Work has been going pretty good, altho I have moved to the day shift (0600 to 1400(or 2pm)). I hate getting up in the mornings. I am a night owl and have trouble going to bed before 1 am, but I am learning. I don't really sleep well at night. I wake up every 2 hours and don't really feel rested. If I lay down between 6 and 8 am I sleep well till about 2 pm and feel very rested. Must have been all the swing and mid-shifts in the Navy and right after that screwed with my body clock and made me a night owl.
We have also been doing some work in the back yard. A friend of Eric's has been staying with us and he put in a short (6 to 8 feet long by about 1.5 ft wide) walkway from the end of the driveway to the back fence gate. He used some native stone and different colored bricks and one concrete and pebble slab made in the shape of the state. It looks pretty good.
Sammy planted me some tomatoes in a five gallon wash tub that are sitting at the end of the driveway as well. He had to plant them because I have a black thumb.
We have also been discussing doing some landscaping. I want some wisteria and Sammy wants a grape arbor. I'm trying to talk him into the arbor with wisteria as the flowers look like grapes. And we will put either a bench or a fountain in the arbor.
Well, that's about it for now.
Have a loverly week-end.

Friday Five

If you...

1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve? Homecooking with a low/no fat section. And the low/no would have flavor besides being too spicy to eat.

2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell? Fantasy/ medieval items and figurines, Dragons and oriental things

3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be? I have toyed with this one already. Romance where the male and female lead characters are older than 20-30. The over forty crowd needs lovin' too which is something the publishers seem to forget.

4. ...ran a school, what would you teach? History, history and more history especially Old England and the civil war time periods. Also a good possibility that I would throw in the World Wars and Vietnam.

5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it? Bag pipes and Celtic music

No the remodel isn't done yet...any day now. But I do have a job now. I took a job working security at the Dallas Convention Center. I figured it was a good way to lose weight and help me get back in shape as there is ALOT of walking.
I worked the back gate during the Auto Show and got to see all the new models and a lot of older ones too...Got a ball cap from the AER Racing guys. That was majorly cool.
Knock wood, my gall bladder is behaving right at the moment...I have real issues with letting the VA take it out. I don't trust them by what I have seen so far.
That's it...for now
By the by, brother. I see you fixed the link to my blog from yours...Not that anyone would really like to hear my wild rantings but thanx. If you find anymore of the above type questionaires send em to me... I have always liked them.
Ta for now
